Course Description:
American Government helps students become informed and active citizens through the study of the United States political system. Responsible citizenship means understanding the principles, structures, practices, and outcomes of government. Students will gain a greater understanding of the development of the U.S. government structure, and knowledge of how government functions at the local, state and national levels.
Prerequisite: Successful Completion of World Cultures and US History
Course Length: 1 Semester
Credits: 0.5 Credit
Please Note: This course is offered virtually or independently based on teacher and SLA recommendation. AP Government may also be taken in place of this course to satisfy a student’s Government requirement. The Civics Exam will be a required element of this course. Which is needed to satisfy a graduation requirement.
