When a student requires a letter of recommendation to be written by a teacher, SLA, and/or administrator, the following steps should be followed:
Personally make a request to the individual you wish to have write the letter. Ask for letters from individuals that you feel will write you a positive recommendation.
Begin asking for letters early. Provide the writer at least two weeks advance notice.
Provide each writer with a detailed outline of your high school activities, honors, awards, volunteer service, community organizations, etc.
