I am excited to work with WVL students for the 3rd year, as well as our highly professional and caring staff. As a school psychologist, I am available to support students who may encounter a range of issues affecting their education. My experience includes 24 years as the school psychologist at Nicolet High School in suburban Milwaukee. Prior to Nicolet, I worked for the Waukesha School District serving Pre-K through 12th grade. Throughout my career, I have assisted students with disabilities as well as students who exhibit emotional needs. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me through email or phone, as I am available to support you and your children with any concerns where I might offer assistance.
I am proud to say that I have been teaching science to Wisconsin students for over 15 years. My goal is to make WVL the premier place for science education in my birthplace of Wisconsin.
My favorite books as a child were National Geographic Magazines.
I am an outdoorsman/explorer/adventurer and I have visited just about every state park/natural area in this great state as well as almost all 50 states in the USA. (Next stop: Alaska!)
Some of my favorite adventures include: hiking the Grand Canyon, helicoptering over Hawaii volcanoes, exploring ancient Mayan temples, witnessing NASA scientists test future Mars rovers, exploring the WW2 D-Day beaches of Normandy, and exploring shipwrecks in a submarine.
Here are some fun facts about me:
I have over 14,000 views on my YouTube channel.
I once got kicked out of the White House in Washington DC.

(everything 100% true!)
I am excited to be starting my ninth year as a Student Learning Advocate with Wisconsin Virtual Learning!! The relationships that are developed with my students and families is one of my favorite things about my job! I am a graduate of Purdue University and my masters were earned at Ball State University. Both universities are in Indiana where I grew up on a grain farm. I started my career as a University Extension 4-H/Youth Agent in Indiana, then after I was married and had children, took time off to be with them. I returned to the education field as a high school teacher with Port Washington High School then Ozaukee High School. While I am a full-time SLA, I am also an instructor for our high school electives in the area of Family & Consumer Science and Business. My favorite things about Wisconsin is the beautiful scenery! I love exploring the state! My favorite childhood book is The Tale of the Three Trees. My husband and I love to travel and spend time with our three grown children.
My name is Jamie Gebauer, and I am very excited to be the new high school math teacher at Wisconsin Virtual Learning. I have teaching licenses in both Elementary/Middle Education and Secondary Mathematics and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UW-Milwaukee. I have been in the field of education for the past 15 years, as a teacher in the Elmbrook School District and in various roles in the Department of Education at Carroll University.
Math has always been a true passion of mine, and I am thrilled to be back in a position where I can help students develop in this subject area. This unique virtual setting also provides opportunities to integrate new and interesting technology into the classroom community. I strive to provide a variety of learning opportunities for students, and I am excited to implement this methodology in the math program at WVL.
My family consists of my husband Dan, who is an associate principal in the Oconomowoc School District, our daughter Macy, a 4th grade dancer, and our son Jacob, a 2nd grade Lego enthusiast. We love spending summers at the pool and spending time together as a family.
My favorite thing about Wisconsin is the summer and all of its activities - swimming pools, Noah's Ark, grilled food, parades, and fireworks.
My favorite childhood book is Matilda by Roald Dahl. I also enjoy the Harry Potter books as an adult!
