Portal Sites for College Applications
Once you have narrowed your post-high school educational search to the schools that fit you best, it is recommended you utilize a portal website to apply to the select institutions.  Wisconsin has three excellent system portals that can efficiently assist students through the application process.  The three educational systems and their corresponding portal sites are:
  1. University of Wisconsin System - made up of 13 baccalaureate universities and 13 college campuses.  The direct application site can be found at https://apply.wisconsin.edu/
  2. Wisconsin Private College System - made up of 20 baccalaureate campuses.  The information and direct application site can be found at http://www.wisconsinsprivatecolleges.org/
  3. Wisconsin Technical College System - made up of 16 technical colleges.  The information and direct application site can be found at http://www.witechcolleges.org/
An additional tool that can be utilized to efficiently apply to over 400 member colleges and universities across the nation is the Common Application.  Students fill out a master application, then send it to as many member schools as they wish.  The information and direct application site can be found at https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/default.aspx

If none of these portals meet your needs, it is advised to apply directly on the website of the school(s) you are considering.  Most school websites will have an APPLY ONLINE button or tab located somewhere on their homepage.  If not there, a link should be located on their admissions page.
